Daily Prayers

Our vision is to see a world of God-consciousness, respect, dignity, and justice.

Jamia Masjid Ghausia is open every day of the year for people to use our prayer Services, including all five daily prayers. Prayer is an invocation or act that seeks to activate a rapport with an object of worship through deliberate communication. In the narrow sense, the term refers to an act of supplication or intercession directed towards a deity (a god), or a deified ancestor. More generally, prayer can also have the purpose of thanksgiving or praise, and in comparative religion is closely associated with more abstract forms of meditation.

In Islam, Friday prayer or Congregational prayer is a prayer that Muslims hold every Friday, afternoon instead of the Zuhr prayer. Muslims ordinarily pray five times each day according to the sun's sky path regardless of time zones. On Fridays, the special Jumuah prayer (which replaces the Zuhr prayer) is preceded by a sermon (khutbah), which takes about half an hour.
